Two chefs restaurant food lover can now be relieved from the long hours of queueing at commonwealth branch. That’s because they have branched out their Tzi-Char to Sin Ming Walk.
I first heard of Two Chefs years ago when my aunt brought us to their commonwealth outlet during evening, an hour before the dinner rush. I remember tasting their drunken cockles and I’m hooked in an instant.
Wanting to relive this great dish in my mouth, this year’s mother’s day dinner we head to Two Chefs at Bishan. We were there around 4.30pm when the crowd hasn’t set in. Since it’s a special day, we go slightly beyond what our stomach could take.
A total of 6 dishes on the table for 2 adults and 2 toddlers. 😂 We ended up with lots of take away for supper.
As a start, the restaurant famous appetiser drunken cockles, were served to us raw and cold. That’s the two elements which make this dish so addictive. If you are not a goer for raw nor ‘blood show” cockles, you should stay away. The flavours depends wholely on the wine dunking it, with fresh garlic, ginger and spring onions used as garnished. Thank God the shucking are all done prior. You’ll be given in-house chilli sauce as dipping. Every bite is heavenly!
Butter ribs is one of their signature dish, which unfortunately turns out as a disappointment. Might be the 3rd chef’s work? 😂No other explanation why it is named as a “must try” The thick snow-like condensed milk powder which falls on top of fried ribs is overly sweet for my palate. The meat are tough too.
Here’s a few other common dishes we ordered, it’s taste? Nothing to shout about.
Steamed fish Hong Kong style
Stir fried scallop with broccoli and mushrooms
Signature dish minced meat with homemade tofu
Ginger and spring onion Venison
We would go to Two Chefs Restaurant again to give their other dishes a try. Why not? After all, they have the drunken cockles I’d die for.
