Today I woke up with cold hands and feet, and immediately it cross my mind to cook this dish. Ginger wine chicken works really well in warming up body. This particular dish also reminded me of my first cooking lesson with granny.
20 years ago, I was in my aunt home for a week to help around with chores as she has just given birth to my lovely cousin brother. My grandma is in charge of her confinement meals and chores around baby Philip. I had most of the fun playing with cute baby and of course I get to learn a few 101 in taking care baby. 😜
Every day this dish was part of Aunt’s diet. As it is prepared to instil heat constitution to any mommy during their first month after given birth, I’m not allowed to indulge in. Or else I might have episodes of nose bleeding.
However, Aunt fed me a few spoonful behind granny’ back. And the moment I get the first spoonful of it’s taste, that, strikes my love at first bite for cooking. Then the next day, I was there in the kitchen, standing on a stool near stove watching grandma cook.
